One area Liverpool need to look at strengthening in the January transfer window is our striking department. It may also seem perfect right now with Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez playing there and scoring the goals. But every great team need depth upfront, and if either one of those two, or worse both of them, get injured or suspended, we will be in big trouble.

Iago Aspas is meant to be the backup striker but he has struggled with injury and form since he joined from Celta Vigo in the summer. One player who has been linked with a move to Liverpool is 25-year old Greek striker Konstantinos Mitroglou.

Mitroglou has been in fine form for his current club Olympiakos and he has carried that form to the national side as he managed to grab a brace for Greece against Romania in their World Cup playoff on Friday night.

With Greece grabbing a 3-1 victory, they are one step closer to being on the plane to Brazil in 2014. Now Liverpool need to do all they can to sign Mitroglou this January or else his value in the summer could go through the roof if he has a great World Cup.
