Speculation continues to mount that Raul Meireles may be leaving Liverpool this summer. The reasons for his potential departure are many, ranging from: he is too old, he will not be good enough to make the starting line-up next season, he is injury prone, he needs to be sold to fund new transfers, to he is not happy with his current contract.

I would be deeply saddened if we do sell Raul this summer. Who can forget the 5 goal purple patch he went through last season? I would take a lot of memories away from Raul’s season at Liverpool if he does leave. And courtesy of ELPistoleroJFT96 we have a video of Raul’s goals and assists from last season.

too be honest, yes he scored those goals…but other than that…his passes were inaccurate, his fitness was seriously bad and had usually poor finishing…

I’m not saying he was bad – he was decent/good…but he wasn’t special at anything….I’d rather have Adam than Meireles because Adam is special at passing and set pieces which is vital for a midfielder….he also has a captain mentality – drives the team forward and proven well fitness.

If Adam comes and Meireles goes – I’d be very happy.

I was lucky enough to see us beat Scum at Anfield, and Meirelles was AWESOME. His runs, passes and intelligence at the right wing (says everything about his versatility!!) made room for the rest of the players.

Stuff you only really appreciate “live”.

He is exactly the kind of player we have been screaming for, guile, technique, intelligence, great passer and mover, goals from midfield (more than Xabi ever did in a season, and think of the teams he was in!!!) etc. etc.

We have Skertl, Lucas, SG, JC etc. to tackle and enforce.

    I Hope KD knows this………
