With the January transfer window only a couple of hours away from opening, Liverpool continue to be linked with a whole host of names. It is no secret that Liverpool need another striker. But after reading my fellow Scouser’s post that Liverpool should not give Hodgson any cash to splash in January, I started to wonder if really we can afford not to spend anything in January?
Well if we are going to spend in January and get in a new striker, I hope we do not buy Carlton Cole from West Ham! That would just go down as another one of Hodgson’s bad signings along with Poulsen and Konchesky. Roy has come out and said that Joe Cole was not his signing. Fair enough but Roy should not go ahead a buy another Cole especially since the one he currently has is not firing at all.
When Joe Cole signed for Liverpool in the summer I was excited. I hoped that Joe would turn out to be one of the best free signings ever. But he has not delivered on that promise at all. Now with Carlton Cole, I do not think we will be getting anything better. Hodgson made an attempt to sign England international Cole, who has netted just five times in all competitions this season, in the summer transfer window.
I do not rate Carlton Cole at all (only 5 goals all season says enough!) and it worries me that we continue to be linked with buying him. There are much better strikers out there that we could get! If Hodgson signs (or is allowed) to sign Cole then I can certainly see us going from bad to worse.
Totally agree but before we get new players we need a new manager and Rafa is available.
All a waste of breath with this we might/should/can…. We are in complete free fall and as he tells us it has nothing to do with Hodgson ( and his arrogant I am a world-class manager!). Owners are baseball men and understand that alone.
They have little awareness of footnball managing and to say it shows is somewhat of an understatement. For the remainder of this season it will be a hard battle to avoid relegation as Hodgson continues his innept handling of team positions and tactics. Little succour will be had from NESV and they might show some interest when the world-wide lucrative fanbase begins to crumble. Money is the only thing they understand outside of baseball! If our position is bad now you’ve not seen anything yet!!!

Please no!!!!!! Sack Roy before he buys the flop. I aint mystic Smeg but Carltomn Cole will not work. Look at his career stats. OFten Injured and turns it on for one or two games a season.
