Liverpool are closing in on a £30million move for Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain, according to the Daily Express.
The Argentine international has been consistently linked with a move away from Napoli, and reports suggest he may now get his wish as the Serie A side have wrapped up the £11million signing of Sampdoria frontman Manolo Gabbiadini.
And with Napoli under pressure to comply with the rules of Financial Fair Play, they could offload Higuain six months earlier than planned – with Liverpool registering an interest.
Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez prefers to play a 4-2-3-1 system, and with attacking talents such as Jose Callejon, Lorenzo Insigne, Michu, Dries Mertens and Duvan Zupata already on the books, the Spaniard may be willing to sell Higuain to his former club.
