Brendan Rodgers has hinted at a move for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, reports the Express.
The Reds are set to take on AC Milan in their latest friendly match during their tour of America, and Rodgers found himself questioned about the Italian striker who has been linked with a return to the Premier League this summer.
Liverpool have been one of the names most heavily linked with the 23-year-old, and Rodgers confirmed he is an admirer of the former Manchester City striker.
He said: “Balotelli has all the qualities [I like].
“He’s 6’3”, he’s quick, his touch is terrific, he can score goals and he’s still so young.
“I saw that in this time at Inter as a young player and obviously going to Manchester City when we had a real close eye on him there. He’s a big talent.”
The Reds are still in with a shout of signing Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund, with the German international still yet to agree a new deal with the Bundesliga giants.
Liverpool have been consistently linked with the attacking midfielder, and received another boost when Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge distanced his club from a move for Reus.
“I like to give myself a year in advance to make transfer decisions,” he said.
“But this cannot be done in football any more.”
