Liverpool ace Luis Suarez will be named the PFA Footballer of the Year today (Sunday) according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The report says:
Controversial striker Luis Suarez has been voted Player of the Year by his fellow stars, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.

And Liverpool’s entire squad will turn up in force to support their team-mate at the Professional Footballers Association awards dinner in London on Sunday night.

This is a very much deserved award for the Liverpool striker who has banged in 30 goals already this season in the Premier League and we must not forget that he did not play in the first few games of the season and he does not take penalties.

I doubt very few would disagree in seeing Suarez receive this award although some may say Steven Gerrard or Manchester City’s Yaya Toure should also receive it.

Hopefully Suarez will cap off a great season by winning the award that he and Liverpool players really want which is the Premier League. The Reds only need 7 more points from their remaining 3 games, a feat which should be achievable, starting with beating Chelsea at Anfield today.
