Joe Allen has received some pretty rough criticism from Liverpool fans following his miss against Everton on Saturday. Liverpool were leading 2-1 when Allen missed a sitter to make it 3-1. At that point, if Allen had scored, Liverpool may have just killed off the game.
Brendan Rodgers looked back at that moment and said n Liverpoolfc.com, “We’re disappointed as well because we were 2-1 up and should have gone to 3-1 – that would have allowed us to control the game much better.”

If Allen’s miss was pathetic, how do you rate, for instance, our marking for Everton’s first? At least as pathetic, but somehow no-one is blaming Gerrard or asks for him to be sold. Why do people have to measure players so differently?

Please please let’s give this lad a chance. I understand the miss was bad but it’s football. BR has picked him up for a reason. Henderson was having nightmares last season and he has progressed. Allen has had a difficult spell out injured and is trying to get back in and maybe trying too hard. Let’s give him a chance and trust in the management. It’s been a good season so far
and get behind the team. YNWA!
Why not we loan him out to gain few games. Maybe the pressure for playing a big club.
