Brendan Rodgers has told the Liverpool Echo that left back Jose Enrique is likely to be fit for the visit of Fulham on Saturday. Rodgers said, “We’re just waiting on Jose. He has trained and his knee is much better so we’ll hoping he will be available for the weekend.

“That’s something we’ll assess in the next 24 hours. It will be great to have Jose back.”

This news comes as a great boost for Liverpool going into the Fulham game. Aly Cissokho has been filling in at left back whilst Enrique has been out injured and in all fairness, the French defender has struggled there.

Cissokho is too one dimensional and is struggling going forward. The 3-5-2 formation that Liverpool are using now relies a lot on the wing backs to give some width to the side. With the return of Enrique, Liverpool will have a much better attacking option down the left together with the return of Glen Johnson down the right.
