Having missed the trip to Arsenal, Glen Johnson is now fit again to take up his place in the Liverpool side for the visit of Fulham on Saturday.

“Glen Johnson will be fit,” Brendan Rodgers told a pre-match press conference at Melwood.

“He’s fine. He’s trained this week – it was just one of those peculiar things that happened.

“Maybe if it had been a day earlier, he may have been able to play.

“But he’s fine for the game and has looked good in training this week.”

This comes as a great boost for Liverpool as Johnson plays a key role in Liverpool’s 3-5-2 formation. The width in the side must come from the wing backs and against Arsenal, young Jon Flanagan came in to replace Johnson and struggled in providing any attacking width. Johnson’s return will certainly have those fancying a flutter with bwin football placing their stakes on a Liverpool win.

Now with Johnson in the side and with Liverpool playing at home against a relatively weaker side in Fulham, you can expect Johnson to be bombing down the right at every opportunity he gets to help Suarez and Sturridge in attack.

The left wing back role still remains a problem for the Reds as Jose Enrique is still out injured so Aly Cissokho is most likely to be called in again on the left. Hopefully with it being a home game, Cissokho will perform better than he did against Arsenal, even though Jimmy Case thinks the French defender should never play there again.

It is a good day already for Glen Johnson today as he has also been called up by Roy Hodgson for the England squad for their upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.
