TalkSPORT is reporting today that Liverpool are set for a shock move for AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy.

Liverpool are considering a shock move for AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy, it has been reported.

The 20-year-old is regularly linked with transfers away from the San Siro despite insisting he is happy at the club.

He is already a regular for the Italian national team and has established himself as a key player at Milan, where he scored 16 goals in 37 Serie A outings last term.

But rumours of a departure persist – with Manchester City also understood to be monitoring his situation closely.

Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, are known admirers and are said to be ready to make their move for the forward.

Now it has been reported in Germany that the Bundesliga side think their stiffest competition in the race to land El-Shaarawy will come from Anfield.

Now this really is a surprising rumour! It would be great for Liverpool to bring in another striker to help Suarez and Sturridge when either of them get injured or suspended. Currently Liverpool have Iago Aspas as the back up striker but he is out for up to five weeks with a thigh injury. Victor Moses would most likely be the current replacement now if anything were to happen to SAS.

Aspas has not had the best of starts to his Liverpool career and some fans are already dubbing him as a flop. That is very unfair as he is new to the team and the Premier League so he needs at least a season to adjust and then we can fairly judge him.

El-Shaarawy is a quality international striker, who can also play on the wing, and if he were to arrive at Anfield, he would not be content with playing second fiddle and would really be pushing Sturridge and Suarez for a starting role. That is the kind of competition we need in all departments if we are going to challenge for major honours.

Many Liverpool fans have been calling out for a marquee signing and El-Shaarawy could be one of those. If Liverpool are however going to go into the market for a big name striker then we would be better off trying to get Diego Costa to move to Anfield from Atletico Madrid.

Am glad liverpool are in really good form, now but i would like the coach to look deeply to the line of defense, we have conceived cant two or three goals through a free kick this reason and that should be one of the things we should look into, Aspas is a good player, am sure he can play like swansea forward Michu, so let’s give him a chance when he’ll be back from injury, and the last is luis alberto, he is a good midfielder, i would like the coach to be putting him in the field, so that he can learn from gerrald and lucas.
