The transfer window may be closed but that has not stopped players to be linked with moves in the January transfer window. The latest rumour making the rounds is that Liverpool are set to bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s Argentine midfielder Javier Pastore in January.

The 24-year old attacking midfielder has fallen out of favour at PSG and is seeking a move away from the French club in a bid for regular first team football as he looks to secure a spot in the Argentina squad for the World Cup.

Pastore who joined PSG for a reported £30million in August 2011 from Palermo would be a much welcomed addition to the Liverpool side. In the summer, Liverpool tried to sign attacking midfielders Willian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Christian Eriksen, but none of those deals came through and thus the Reds still remain thin in terms of attacking options in midfield.

Coutinho is currently out injured and we are struggling with link-up play between the midfield and the forwards in his absence. This is where a player like Pastore would be highly beneficial with his eye for a killer pass and great technical ability on the ball. With our current midfield trio of Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas, there is very little creativity coming out from there.

It is being suggested that Pastore could cost Liverpool £20million in January which would be money well spent. Having missed out on Willian, Mkhitaryan and Eriksen, Pastore would be the perfect tonic as he ranks right up there compared to those three and may even be better than then in my opinion. Do you think Pastore would be a good buy for Liverpool?

Who would you rather have play for Liverpool?

BR simply has to sign him if he does want to leave PSG. We didnt get our marquee signing this summer and we need it. BR has better luck in the jan window so lets hope he gets it right again.

  2. Danno says:

We didn’t get a Marquee signing because FSG won’t buy expensive players due to CLOWN FOOLGLISH SHAMBOLIC SPENDING ;-( Jesus the only reason we got Sakho & Ilori on the last day of transfer window, was because we didn’t have a defence. These pricks are only about lacing there pockets, and there loving this fair play shite ( Means they can get away with buying us B team class players from Spain for peanuts, and wages of peanuts ) While the twats red sox can go out and buy the two most expensive players in the history of baseball ;-(

Liverpool fans make me crease! Pastore has been shocking ever since he signed for psg and to say u wnt him more than the other three is just ridiculous! The fact u cant have the other three because they all choose better clubs aint got nothing to do with it then hey!? Lol u can ave pastore he is average at best! Then i see u reakon henderson is worth 15 mill lol no1 and i mean no1 would even pay close to that! I can see suraez going in jan and if not definatley in the summer wen u finish behind everton yet again and have no europe football at all! Bang average team with a bang average manger. All i can say is im glad i dont support liverpool! Bad times!

      • @rob says:

rob you’re a moron why the fuck do u actually read lfc news oh wait u must be a mid-table team I mean scums hahaha

    • mataio says:

haha these are the best…just mock up a list of is and outs and make up some numbers. maybe if were money bags city then itd be that easy! we talk about player loyalty to the club, but what is it when the clubb wants to rid of a player? lucas is one of the best club men we’ve had in a long time. who elsedo you know has had to completely change his game style to get in to the team? no one is the answer, and now IMO his performances are being stunted because the player who he was forced to alter his game for is now sitting deeper with him!

    • j says:

Your a complete joke mate Lucas for 15? He’s worth twice as much as that to our team. Leave your dodgy plans with your footy manager game, i would rather see that ukranian konoplyanka kid or whatever his name is, doubt he would cost 20mill too.

  4. naz says:

Well why sell lucas we need to build a big squad to challenge especially when manure is going downhill its time again come on brandon invest and lets get back where we belong

  5. Andy says:

Pastore would be a great signing but Eriksen is proving already that he can cope with the pace and physicality of the Premier League. Can we be certain this will be the same for Pastore?

  6. stanley onyekachi says:

It is madness to think about selling lucas, skrtel n henderson. Pls if u know dat u r not a real lfc fan, den get ur fckng ass off here. Low brain!

  7. Mark H says:

I am amazed at how English fans have this knee-jerk response to EVERYTHING that happens. Arsenal lose – it’s a crisis. Liverpool win – they are championship material. Ericksen has ONE good game – he’s a superstar. The way you tell who wins a fight like the EPL is to get to the end of the 15th round and see who is still standing. The amount of bullshit on this, and other websites, could fertilise Bob Marley’s ganja patch for the next 100 years.
