You are going to be reading a lot of reports today, as every paper seems to be running with this story, linking Andy Carroll with a return to Newcastle for a cut-down fee as low as £10million.

It is no secret that Carroll has not lived up to expectations at Liverpool following his £35million transfer from Newcastle almost a year ago. But to suggest that Liverpool would be willing to make a loss of £25million is mind boggling to me! There is no way I can see our American owners willing to take such a financial knock.

Yes, Carroll has not delivered yet for Liverpool but should we not rather give him some more time and hope that the £35million investment we made for him comes good? What if Carroll all of a sudden starts to shine next season? He is only 23-years-old least we forget. He easily has another 7 years of decent football left in him and now with the return of Steven Gerrard to fitness, we could see our captain bring out the best in Carroll.

What is fueling this rumour that Carroll could be headed back to Newcastle is that the striker wants to move back to the North-East coupled with that speculation that he has fallen out with Kenny Dalglish. Now neither of these two reasons carry any weight but where there is smoke there is fire in my opinion.

Should Liverpool sell Andy Carroll back to Newcastle on the cheap?

There is no way that Carroll is leaving in January. He has got star quality and I think we will see that come out during the Suarez suspension. We saw a glimpse of it with that cracking goal against Oldham (granted it was Oldham). And I’ve heard rumours he’s demotivated, if u saw his celebration you know the passion he has. Carroll is a 5 year investment – that’s always been the case

yeah let him go,didnt really work our for him & for $35 Mill we expect instint results…sorry Andy but your home is Newcastle but Liverpool is not for u,it is not a perfect fit.If this is true & u are going , the only replacement LFC MUST get is Fernando “El Nino” Torres back. LFC is his home away from home. Fernando will shine for LFC & im sure if he comes back , we will see the Torres of old…Come Back Home Fernando…

Disgraceful reporting. Dalglish has just made you look silly. The Carroll story is complete media fabrication – and you bought it. Support your players Our Kop and leave the bashing to the FA and other teams’ fans.
