Liverpool have been linked with a January move for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent. It is no secret that we need another striker to bring in more goals for the club.
But Aston Villa have come out and said that they have not heard from Liverpool about Bent.
“We’ve not heard a thing from Liverpool,” said McLeish. “I’m aware of the speculation.
“But there has been no contact with this club and I think you’ve had three parties telling you that.
“But, even if there was contact, we would not entertain that (selling Bent).
“We wouldn’t want to entertain selling our top scorer of last season. He is a prolific marksman.”

It’s disgraceful to know that Dalglish and Comolli apparently are thinking of bidding for Bent! I hope we are not just going to end up in the range of 5 to 7th position at the end of the season! No more overrated British players like Bent. Let’s go for Lukas Podolski, Soldado or Jelavic or any prolific goal scorer. No more British! Can’t Comolli’s scouts go to South America where they can discover young and mature talents especially a striker and a winger who can create and finish goals clinically? Luis Suarez would love to have a capable ally upfront not someone like Andy Carroll! A defensive midfielder wouldn’t be such a bad idea either at least he would cover up for Lucas till he returns! I’m not in for Darren Bent!

Bent and his agent are trying to get him a move, which you cant blame him for he went there and within short time all there better players were gone with no real sign of the club trying to push forward even the appointment of mcleish is negative. no real bid has been made and if u look at some of rumours in last 6 months most are utter rubbish just crap made up by bunch of hacks to fill paper.
If Dalglish goes ahead with this deal, let’s hope for his sake that it works out. If not, that will be the parting of ways with him and Liverpool FC.
