Liverpool managed to get a superb 2-0 win on Tuesday night against Chelsea in the Carling Cup but there was one dampener on the game: the injury to Lucas.
When Lucas went down following his challenge on Frank Lampard, the Brazilian midfielder did not look good at all. He tried to come back onto the field and play on but it simply was not working and he had to be stretchered off.
Kenny Dalglish gave an update after the match and said, “He’s damaged his knee. We don’t know what it is. We’ll get him looked at and take it from there.
“We don’t know what it is so rather than speculate we are best waiting until we get the proper diagnosis tomorrow or the next day and we’ll let everybody know in due course.
“He needs to get it scanned.”
Lucas has been one of Liverpool’s top performers this season and hopefully the injury is not too bad. It s funny how a few seasons ago many Liverpool fans hated Lucas but now we are worried that he may be out for a long period if his injury is serious.
I hope he return on time.

Oh well fat chance of finishing 4th now, Fulham is a nightmare place to go and without our main battler we are going to struggle.
