Charlie Adam has been getting a lot of praise today following his performance against Chelsea on Sunday. It was Adam who disposed Mikel to set up Liverpool’s opening goal and it was a long range Adam pass that picked out Glen Johnson on the right for the winner.
Throughout the match Adam looked in control of the game, aided by Lucas who seems to be allowing Adam to venture forward whilst the Brazilian stays back. But I was not impressed with Adam at all for the Chelsea goal as Adam should have done better in stopping Malouda from getting into the box and whipping in the ball that led to the Chelsea equaliser. But besides that, Adam in my book played very well and should be getting the man of the match award.
Glen Johnson was fill of praise for Adam after the game as he said, “It was fantastic to score the winner and it was a great pass from Charlie. I told him after the game I had been waiting over 75 minutes for that pass!
“It was brilliant for Charlie because he also played a big role in our opening goal.
“It’s sometimes difficult in a tight game to find the space but when you have a player like Charlie, once is often enough for you to get the chance to score.”
For me, Charlie Adam should be playing a lot better than he has been for Liverpool. We signed him with a lot of expectations but he has not fully delivered. I hope that his performance on Sunday is that start of more better things to see from Adam.
Yes indeed this is Adam’s best performance in a Liverpol shirt.
While his performance in contributing towards the first goal was commendable, he got caught in possession a few times at the beginning of the second half… point is he likes the game to be at his own pace and struggles once the tempo picks up… having said that, the pass made to Glen Johnson was superb.
quite frankly i think this guy doesn’t even deserve to be starting every game. he’s just not that good enough. one good game wouldn’t justify his buy. we need a much quality midfielder, all he does is just hoofing the ball around, then again that was the purpose of his buy, to be feeding the ball around to fat carroll upfront, since all he do is head a ball.i haven’t really seen much of any killer ground passes from him as of yet. and of course he has no creativity nor flair and one slow mo-lass
