With Steven Gerrard struggling with injuries and with him getting on in age, Liverpool are going to have to look for someone to come in and take over from Gerrard when he finally decides to call it a day.

I still believe Gerrard has atleast three more good seasons left in him if he can over come his injuries but we need to start thinking of life after Gerrard. I had thought that Jordan Henderson was signed to take over from Gerrard but having looked at his Liverpool performances thus far, I do not think Henderson quite has it to play a Gerrard type role for us.

Thus Liverpool are now being linked with PSV Eindhoven playmaker Kevin Strootman. The 21-year-old Dutch playmaker has been playing very well for his club and as a result is now already a full Dutch international. It is being reported that Steve Clarke and Kevin Kenn scouted Strootman last week when Holland took on Germany.

PSV would be reluctant to sell Strootman as he is one of their stars but it is thought that they would find it hard to turn down a €10million offer.
