David Villa has been linked with a move to Liverpool for a very long time now. Ever since the days of Rafa Benitez, we all dreamt of a Villa – Torres partnership at Liverpool. Although we may not get to see that combination, we could be set for an even better one with Suarez and Villa upfront.

It is no secret that Liverpool have been struggling to score goals this season and we need more fire power upfront. Andy Carroll has not quite done enough for many fans right now as he was meant to be the partner upfront with Suarez who would fire us to success. Carroll may still be young and he has a lot of potential ahead of him but right now we need someone who can come straight into the starting lineup and fire goals for us. David Villa fits the bill perfectly.

It is being reported that the Barcelona striker has fallen out with Lionel Messi and thus he is finding himself on the bench more often these days. There is really only ever going to be one winner if you are to pick between Messi and Villa. But Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola insists that there is no rift between Messi and Villa as he said, “It is impossible to be an enemy of David, he is too nice a person.

“He is generous both in the way he plays football and also in his personal life. It is impossible not to get on well with him.”

But where there is smoke there is fire, there is a possibility that Barcelona may be ready to offload Villa and Liverpool have reportedly already made contact with Villa’s agent to find out if a move to Anfield would be possible.

It would be interesting to see if John Henry is willing to splash out another £30million to capture Villa having spent that kind of money on Carroll already. Do you think Liverpool should make a serious effort to sign Villa? If so, what then do we do with Andy Carroll?

Get Tevez and sell Carrol, get Kagawa and sell Adam, bring back Aqua and loan out Henderson.

We deffo could do with Villa up front. I don’t care if he’s getting old! I would rather spend £30m+ on a player at the last chapter in his career and finish top.4, then spending £10m on the “next big superstar” and finish 5’th place or below.

And just think about it, Suarez & Villa truly fulfils eachother. One is a technical monster with the workload Kuyt’s got, the other is a natural finisher that makes me think about Robbie Fowler in his prime.

The second little treat about this transfer would be having Andy Carroll in backhand. I wish nothing for the lad but to become the kop’s new hero, but in all honesty, it’s probably a bit too early for him to meet the high price tag on his head.
Although I have no doubt he will in a couple of seasons with support from the fans and more confidence on the pitch. But as form january until then he could be our joker against teams playing with 10 man in defence. His physics suits both Villa and Suarez, and he could assist them well up front in these kind of matches. If the situation is right we could even go with 3 strikers playing Carroll as targetman in the mid.

    Go get Villa Kenny!!!!

I like your thoughts mate. Hope the rest of the fans give Carroll the time he needs as well. I would love to get Villa but somehow doubt it will happen… It was him that was talking about Torres leaving for Chelsea because of Liverpools lack of ambition before it happened. My money is on him linking with Torres at Chelsea – but would love him in the Red of Merseyside.

I’ll tell you what to do with Andy Carroll. We won’t get good money for him if we sell him as he was never worth 35 ml, what we can do is go for a player exchange may be exchange him and get two players in return from another club that too won’t be easy, but what ever we do (sell him or exchange) we are not going to recoup the 35 ml, we have to settle for less. Alternatively if Kenny and Commolli has got the patience then give him one more year coz he still got age in his side.

  4. RED K says:

Carrol is shite, I wish we could have sold him but his price can’t even reach 5 mil, we are a team fightin for top places, we ain’t newly promoted team searchin for stability in da league, loan him get Tevez or David Villa, and we need Bellamy more than we need Downing, Hendo doesn’t deserve a starting XI, I can play Maxi or Spearing instead of this flop

  5. richard says:

Jesus christ you guys are negative…
Im not one of them fans who mean you should support your club and manager blindly, but I certainly don’t think you should write off someone after just 11 league games!!

Downing has not been so bad as people make it. Who did you think we bought, Lionel Messi?! And Henderson isn’t even a right winger… Still I see why some ppl are complaining about him, but need I mention Lucas? Give him more time.11 matches is NOT enough to say if a youngster will become a valuable player or not.

    • kamenwoo says:

We cant give him time! Not now! Now its time to make pts, or we going down very very fast 8,9,10 place probably

I see dumb people. Negative dumb people.

  7. frank says:

IF THE OQNER IS WILL TO SPLASH ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY ON PLAYERS – THE GOOD ONES, OF COURSE, THEN, GO AHEAD AND BRING THEM IN. MEANWHILE, GIVE MORE CONFIDENCE TO ANDY CARROL BY PLAYING HIM IN THE LEAGUE GAMES – FOR EXTRA PLAYING TIMES .

  8. Ashfah Hussain says:

We should have bought David Villa to patrner Torres and with Xabi Alonso at that time plus our talismatic captain, Gerrard we would have won the EPL.

  9. steve mcauley says:

much in all as i’d like to see this transfer, for me it’s a non-starter! at 29 and a fee in excess of £30m, he doesn’t fit the bill for FSG, also, to go ANYWHERE from barca is a step down but to not even feature in europe (and not looking good for next season either)would be the stumbling block for villa

  10. steve mcauley says:

and another thing, if FSG were persuaded to spend that kind of dough on someone of that age then, I personally would prefer carlos tevez! controversial i know but he is proven in the PL and i’m sure our staff could manage all the baggage

  11. joe-scouser-lfc says:

Few seasons ago few benitez was chashing him and silva .. every 1 was excited .. now kennys appatently trying to sign him its all oh hes to old :-/ if a 29 year old striker means us winning the league then so be it

  12. RAJIV says:

YOU MORONS SUPPORT LIV AND LIV PLAYERS.
GIVE HENDO THE TIME NEEDED,HE WILL BE THE PERFECT PLAYER FOR THE CENTRAL MIDFIELD.THERES A MOTHER SUCKER WHON SAID WE MUST SELL ADAM.GET A BREAK MAN.FOR ME ADAM IS SATISFACTORING.WE SHOULD BE GOING FOR GOTZE AND EVEN PODOLSKI WOULD BE GREAT.COULD HAVE BOUGHT MARIN ALSO.GREAT PLAYER.

  13. Tezza says:

Bit late for April Fools isnt it.

  14. Chessie says:
