John Aldridge believes that Craig Bellamy should stay in the Liverpool starting lineup following his goal this past weekend against Norwich.

The former Liverpool striker spoke to the Liverpool Echo and said, “Craig Bellamy really impressed me during Liverpool’s draw against Norwich.

Bellamy took his goal really well and got himself into some great positions throughout.

Supporters love the spirit he shows on the pitch and it’s good to see him back playing for the club.

I was surprised when he was taken off midway through the second half as I felt he was still playing a big part in the game.

We need to start utilising Bellamy more than we have been since he rejoined this summer and I really hope he keeps his place.

That goal should give him a big boost and hopefully there will be plenty more to come.”

With Bellamy on the field, we also have an option of using his pace to get in behind defenders just as he did against Norwich. Our side is not blessed with a lot of pace and with Stewart Downing not being in the best of form right now, I agree with Aldridge that we should look to play Bellamy more. What are your thoughts?

Largely agree. I’m surprised neither of Bellamy nor Caroll featured against a weak MUFC and believe it was a tactical error from the King’s team (much like SAF erred against City). Bellamy’s pace, industry (complementing that of Kuyt and Suarez), plus all round nuisance factor is just what opposing defenders need from LFC. This player, like Kuyt and Suarez is one who will give 150% to the cause throughout. We shouldn’t drop Bellamy at all.

My thoughts are the same. In addition I think it’s about time to bring on Maxi. It’s a shame that players who played so well in the latter half of the previous season were left on the bench. No wonder players like Meireles and Aquilani have asked for a transfer.

Craig Bellamy can be utilsed as a supersub in the mould of Michael Robinson. Malaysia has immortalised him by having an important road named after him in Kuala Lumpur, near the National Palace.

I agree that belamy should start on the left . Downing on the right. Caroll and suarz in attacks. We need wingers that can cross for caroll to score. So far I don’t see much of our goal been created from both side of the field.in defence, we need to improve. We have been giving away goal from set pieces. Something is wrong with our 2 centre back. We really need to improve… if we need to get back to the top 4…
