“Did he dive or did he not dive?” That seems to be one of the biggest talking points coming out of Liverpool’s 1 -1 result against Manchester United on Saturday.

Liverpool were awarded a free-kick just outside the box when Charlie Adam went on a run and was bought down by Rio Ferdinand. The referee awarded a free-kick which Steven Gerrard converted to give Liverpool the lead.

Now Manchester United fans and players are fuming that Charlie Adam went down too easily and it should not have been a free-kick. Adam himself believes he was bought down.

Adam said, “Well, everyone has an opinion and I felt a touch.

“If I hadn’t gone down I would have been clear through on goal so there must have been contact. That’s the way I look at it.

“I felt contact when I went past Rio and that’s the way it goes. I’m not that type of player. I’m not just going to go down easily.

“It was a foul and that is why the referee gave it and the goal was just different class. That is why Stevie is one of the best players in the world.”

Do you think Adam went down too easily? You can judge for yourself based on the video below and take the poll.

Do you think Charlie Adam 'dived' against Manchester United?

i’m a liverpool fan and even i can see a bit of bias in the poll

Oh the mean bias like awarding the beachball goal?
Or Kelly’s 50.50 in the box that was adjudged to have been a foul? Oh that bias.

Does that matter? Ronaldo dives, Drogba dives, Suarez dives, the whole of Barcelona dives and yet they are regarded as the best footballers in the world. The point is was it a foul and it seems so as there was contact.

Everyone seems to get hung up on video evidence, we can’t tell where his balance was at the time of the contact, we cant tell if the contact was enough to change that point of contact, we can’t even tell if it was deliberate, although it was well away from the ball, and if there was not enough contact to stop Adam, then why did Rio even bother makeing contact; if you ask me I think this along with the Evra rubbish is just another attempt by united to divert talk away from the fact that they were second best all over the park, Rio couldn’t cope with Suarez which is why he got the firts booking, rather than admit that old pomegrannet nose talks about Suarez ‘diving’ all over the place its all a load of bol**** Lets move on next up Norwich.
