There does not seem to be any stopping the press from speculating on players coming to Liverpool even though the transfer window is closed. Liverpool bought in Craig Bellamy just before the window closed as we needed another striker in our squad following the departure of David Ngog. Now Bellamy is not your out and out striker as we have seen so far this season he has been deployed out on the flanks by Dalglish.

With Carroll and Suarez as the two main strikers in the squad, with Dirk Kuyt also capable of filling in that role it is still suggested that Liverpool still need to sign another striker.

Reports are suggesting that young Dutch starlet Luuk de Jong has been scouted by Liverpool and we may be ready to make a bid for £10million for the FC Twente striker either in January or in the summer.

De Jong has been playing very well in the Dutch league so far this season having scored 7 goals in 8 games resulting in him being called up to the Dutch national team. Hopefully if Liverpool do sign him he will come and be a striker who scores goals in the Premier League unlike Dirk Kuyt who did not live up to his goal scoring exploits in Holland when he joined Liverpool.

kuyt doesnt play very mutch as a striker so how can u say hes not scoring week in week out,i think when hes played as a out and out striker hes been ok

  2. Adil says:

Kuyt is a work horse who scores goals as a midfielder. Hes one of the hardest playing members of LFC and the PL if not the hardest. Kuyt plays with heart and gives it his best. He is more than exceptional.

Kuyt may not have scored many goals, but he has always delivered when required. And history will always remember him for a hat trick at old trafford.

im sick of tired hearing people saying kuyt is not doing enough for liverpool, just because he is a striker doesnt mean he have to score alot of goals to consider good enough, think of him as a winger who score goals, tell me which winger in liverpool starting from houllier era score more goals than kuyt? never for once kuyt complain about being sidelined. he always give 110% during training and matches. its a shame for you to call yourself a liverpool fans where you condemn your own player after he is with us so many years
