Some players go through their whole careers plagued with injuries and no matter how talented they are, their success is always tainted by their poor injury records. Just take a look at our very own Daniel Agger: he could easily be Europe’s top defender today if he was fit more times than he is injured. Now Martin Kelly seems to be having the same problem.

Kelly is one of the hottest prospects in the game today but he seems to always be injured. He then gets fit and in no time at all he is injured again! Now he has been called back to Melwood following international duty with the England Under 21’s.

A statement on Liverpoolfc.tv said:
Martin Kelly has returned to Melwood after being withdrawn from the England U21 squad as a precaution.

Liverpool’s No.34 played the full 90 minutes of the 3-0 win over Iceland in Thursday night’s Euro 2013 encounter, but is now back on Merseyside after feeling a tightness in his groin.

Hopefully this is nothing serious as we need Kelly fit to take on Manchester United in our next game.

I am worried about Kelly’s injuries, maybe he should play one weekend and rest the next (something like two games per month) until end of the season at least to try and preserve him.

Maybe too much is asked at the guy …
