John Aldridge believes that Craig Bellamy could be the bargain buy of the summer. Bellamy arrived at Liverpool from Manchester City and he has already impressed the fans with his cameo appearance during the 1-0 defeat to Stoke on the weekend.
“I thought Bellamy was brilliant when he came on at Stoke and in the last 25 minutes he was the best player on the park,” said Aldridge.
“He was lively, direct, didn’t give the ball away and caused Stoke a lot of problems on the left hand side.
“Bellamy’s performance will have certainly given Kenny Dalglish food for thought.
“With Stewart Downing on the right and Bellamy on the left we looked good and really pinned Stoke back.
“Bellamy could prove to be the bargain buy of the summer.”
When i heard Craig Bellamy was coming to Liverpool, i was extremely excited and thought of the possible strike force we could have as he attacks defenders head on paving the way for Suarez to run the shoulder of any defence with the perfect through ball…
Not to mention the link up with others around him… It was hard to believe watching him on the left, be at the club for not even two weeks. I thought his link up play at times with Enrique * Suarez was great to watch… While Downing was apposing a threat on the other side of the midfield… I can only see good things from him! He has the same aggression as our beloved Suarez and together i think they will be a handful to many defenders to come! Lets hope Carroll can get fit and join in the party!
manure united will tremble all all the way Anfield!!
Craig Bellamy is not only a brilliant footballer who will achieve great things at Liverpool. This, sometimes belligernt, fiery character is also a tremendous ,deep-thinking human being, with an unselfish heart of gold .
He set up the “Craig Bellamy Foundation”[Google it] after a visit to Sierra Leone in 2008 and has given a MILLION pounds of his own money to a charity that will vastly improve the lives of youngsters in Sierra Leone. He has not only set up a brilliant football academy for very poor boys and girls in the former war-torn African country, the foundation also ensures the education of the youngsters. A series of programmes called Craig Bellamy’s African Dream is currently being shown on ITV Wales . It SHOULD be networked across the UK !! Craig is even helping amputees who lost limbs to land-mines and bombs, by setting up a league for them.
The Craig Bellamy Foundation has 1600 members and a network of football development leagues comprising 88 teams.
His girls’ teams promotes equality of women in Sierra Leone , in a society where females are always not fully respected.
To hear Craig speak of the educational development of both boys and girls in Sierra Leone is inspirational, and belies his Press image. Well done Craig Bellamy !!
Craig Bellamy’s African Dream should be shown right across the UK……and BEYOND !!
