The Mirror is reporting that Liverpool have agreed a £4million fee with Bolton for young French striker David Ngog. This has been one of the longest protracted transfers this summer but now it seems set that Ngog will leave Liverpool in his bid to get more regular first-team action.

Ngog was meant to join Sunderland earlier in the summer but he turned down that move due to no agreeing terms with Sunderland. Now it is up to Ngog to agree personal terms with Bolton if it is true that the two clubs have agreed on a fee.

There are also suggestions that Bolton may be ready to make a late bid to sign Ngog as they are desperately seeking to sign a new striker with Premier League experience.

Now the race will be on in the next couple of hours for Liverpool to bring in another striker to act as back-up for Suarez, Carroll and Kuyt. Who would you like to see us bring in?

Nobody The youngsters can step up if needed, Let’s face it Ngog may as well have not been there for all the use he was. If we are getting £4M for him then that’s good business as we only Paid £1m for him, that’s 2 of Rafas signings we made a profit on.

Patrick Helmes is made available by VfL Wolfsburg. Should cost no more than 3-4m and has a better track record than the Korean guy Arsenal just signed. Would be a rock solid back up striker with lots of experience and professional work ethic. You don’t get to sign German internationals for that price very often …
