Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is set to leave the club on a season long loan to French side Lille.

Cole is deemed surplus to requirements at Liverpool and it had been suggested that the would move back to London and join QPR or Tottenham but it seems likely that he will move to France and join Lille as they are able to offer him Champions League football this season.

It is said that Cole actually went to Lille today (Tuesday) as he pushes to get this deal done before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

The important thing for Liverpool with this deal would be getting rid of Cole’s reported £90,000-a-week salary off our wage bill.

  1. i was hoping he will find his formed back, but it seems that will never happen what liverpool can do is to use this deal as good relationship between the two clubs then bid for Hazard even if it is in January.
