These were the words echoed by John W Henry when he had an exclusive interview with Telegraph Sport.
Henry was asked, “What are your targets for this season? Is there a minimum requirement for Kenny Dalglish and his team?”
He replied:
“Manchester United has done an incredible job of building a young, talented, deep squad. I watched a number of their pre-season matches and they seemed in top form even then. We’ve just begun to build and are years behind them so we don’t expect this to be our year to win the Premier League. Manchester City seems to have unlimited spending restraint and are attempting to have all-star quality at each position – two deep. That will be hard to beat. This year our goal is to get back to Champions League. This is a club with a history in European competition and people throughout the world – at least our supporters – yearn for European nights. That’s our first goal. But it won’t be at all easy as there are 6 big clubs – among the best in Europe – fighting for four spots.”

Yeah we are behind Manchester United and Manchester City but not Chelsea,my opinion.we can grab the top 4 spot and with some stability at last,we can challenge for the title in 2 years.Patience,faith and squad and manager backing is needed.Look at our squad and you cant say it is short anymore,it’s strong.

I think this fits in well with his “under-promise, over-perform” philosophy that he said he will have when he first joined the club. Don’t look too much into what he said – the fact that he’s willing to spend so much means that he wants to conquer all fronts asap.
I am not agreed with the owners of liverpool. I am of the view that liverpool is a vary serious contender for the trophy subject to little imporvment and wise planning. Gerrald is just near to recover. We need one more player of Sourez Calliber and class. If we have than the fatal combination of Surez, Gerrald, Downing, henderson would be as deadly as to stop. if we have expend 100 million than another expenditure of 25 -30 million is necessary to make this 100 million furitful. Even we can offload Carrol for 10 – 15 Million. We just need one more quality player to demostrate.

We are not much behind City and United, We just need one more signing of Surez level. Squad moral is vary high. One more inclusion of Surez level will definately boost squads moral. You must appreciate matches are won by Moral. A defeted moral can never produce or become champion. threfore, start think like champion. Make one more big signing off load two three middle level players. Concentrate on every match, Every lost point will create extra pressure on us. We already have lost two precisous points at home. One more highyweight and attack with all might. it will further boost the moral of squad. When moral is high than even ordinary player start delivering their best. I am 100% hopeful therefore, in order to justify and making the 100 million expenditure meaningful it is necessary to expend 20 or 30 million more.

Why?
It seems we have a team to beat weak team like Arsenal or Bolton, so now we have the power and the strength to beat those teams (ok not against sunderland but it was the first game,forget it)
So I think we won’t loose points against them.
And against strong teams? We’ll we’ve beaten both manchester last year and chelsea so I think this year we have to work to follow the rythm of both manchester (which is verry possible) and we have to shine during big games but that’s not a problem for us
And don’t forget Stevie will come back, one of the best player EVER
