Dani Pacheco is set to leave Liverpool in the next couple of days and return to Spain with Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old Spanish forward has failed to hold down a regular first team place at Liverpool after showing so much promise and I have a feeling that this may be the last we see of Pacheco at Liverpool as I am sure he will be a success at Rayo and he may not want to come back to Liverpool.

Reports suggest that Pacheco will be in Spain on Monday to undergo a medical and complete his move.

If Pacheco is to come back after his loan spell, I would be very happy as I rate him very highly. But you have to see where he is coming from: he is so talented and he needs to be playing games. He will not get much game time at Liverpool as he will find it hard to break into the starting lineup, so for him he is moving because he wants more time on the field.

In July, Pacheco had this to say, “Above all, I want to play and if I have to leave to do that then there will be no problem.

“Some day I would like to return home. If it happens, it happens.”

I’ve not seen aything in Dani to suggest he is going to be something special like everyone keeps going on about. Yes he’s done well at youth level with Spain and in our reserves, but what else?

He’s had 3 managers at Liverpool and none have shown a great deal of interest in him, compared to say Flanno, Kelly, Robinson etc. i.e. Players at a young age showing true potential.

I personally think he is too small for the premier league and even with Norwich last year, he din’t set the world on fire in a lower tier. You would expect him to show signs of that by now.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s far better than a lot of the dross Rafa swamped the youth and reserve set up with, but I honestly can’t see him making the grade here. La Liga or Serie A perhaps.

I hope he comes good, but I just can’t see it.

Who’s paying his wages for this loan? He must be on £20-30k a week and I can’t see this small Spanish outfit paying that.

wow.. he can make in La Liga, quite honestly, the best league in the world at this time, but not in the EPL? I’ve been watching La Liga more and more lately bcuz the quality of the ave player is levels above what we have in the EPL. The reason Dalglish is not going to succeed with his current transfer policy.. too many mediocre Brits. while the other teams are buying top quality FOREIGN talent (you know.. players that can actually dribble a football)…with a team full of Brits the best we can hope for is consistent Europa appearances with the odd 4th CL spot..Dalgish needs to wake up and see where the football world has gone in his 15 year absence..

what a waste…i feel sorry for him.
to be honest…he just dont get a chance to prove his worth…flanagan, kelly n robinsopn is very lucky to break through our first team. this is mainly because of our injury-prone defender that we got last season..or maybe they are local. i dont know..but i think Pacheco deserve better. hope that he do well in spain n come back to us next season…i just hope LFC did not do the same mistake as man u did to Rossi. YNWA Pacheco!!!
