Andy Carroll believes that it is going to take a while for the Liverpool players to gel with each other this coming season. We looked very good in the first half against Sunderland and if we kept playing like that in the second, we would have run away as comfortable winners. But we should not expect miracles straight away from our team as Carroll points out.

“We are disappointed with the draw but all the lads are happy to get the first game out of the way,” Cattoll.

“We played some good football and created some good chances in the first half. But we sat off them a bit in the second half and let them get into the game.

“We created enough chances to prove that we can all fit in the team together.

“It is going to take everyone a little while to gel together but we showed with our passing and movement and in terms of chances that it is all there.

“We want to get a few more goals but we all think that it is there.

“We will take some positives out of it and now we’ve got the next game to look forward to.”
