Following the arrival of Jose Enrique to Liverpool, it had been thought that that was the last bit of incoming transfer activity at Liverpool this summer. But reports today are suggesting that Liverpool are not quite done yet with their summer rebuilding as we continue to search for a new centre-back.
We have been heavily linked with Birmingham’s Scott Dann this summer but it looks like Dalglish has turned his attention to Bolton’s Gary Cahill. The 25-year-old is being chased too by Arsenal but Cahill would best be suited with a move to Liverpool ahead of Arsenal as the London club is going through a downward spiral right now.
Cahill is rated as one of the best centre-backs in England today and his arrival would solidify Liverpool’s backline even more. If this rumour carries any weight and Cahill is to arrive at Liverpool this summer, it will be interesting to see whose place he takes in the starting lineup. He would have to compete against Carragher, Agger, Skrtel and Soto for a place in the side. For now, a partnership of Carragher and Cahill would be super but going ahead, I would like to see Cahill and Agger form the basis of the Liverpool defence for many years to come.
couldn’t agree more! really hope this happens, with ngog going the other way!
cahill and agger back up skrtel and carragher with to be added later wilson in two years.
Absolutely! Let ngog get 1st team elsewhere and let dani p. Get a few runs off the bench! Kid is quality.
Would love dann and agger for the future….but cahill would be welcomed just the same. Ynwa.
Sunderland in less than two hours!
He would be a great signing and he wouldnt be competing with soto or skirtel, as he is much better than both of them. Went to game yesterday, thought the line-up could of been better used, henderson looked out of sorts at right wing and I think carol needs to look more interested as he did a lot of moaning , suarez was outstanding again, thought downing done well too, but needs to stay onleft as thats why we bought him
