Dani Pacheco is not a happy person right now. The 20-year-old Spanish striker who is currently on international duty for Spain at the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia, believes that he is not getting enough chances to prove himself at Liverpool and if he is not given more chances then he will have to leave the club and return back to Spain.

“I hoped for a lot more (at Liverpool); why should I deny it?,” Pacheco said.

“I was told I was going to have opportunities; quite simply, if they don’t give me more opportunities, I am very clear I want to leave.

“Above all, I want to play and if I have to leave to do that then there will be no problem.

“Some day I would like to return home. If it happens, it happens.

“Logically it’s a disappointment to see that you don’t have any playing time.

“But in such a situation all you can do is work and I hope to have minutes in the Under-20 World Cup to demonstrate what I am worth.”

Pacheco spent the second part of last season on loan at Norwich and helped them gain promotion back to the Premier League. It had been thought that Norwich may want to sign Pacheco on loan again this season but that is now highly unlikely as Norwich are looking to trim their current squad. Coventry City were also thought to be interested in taking Pacheco on loan.

For how long can Liverpool keep loaning Pacheco out? Is he right to demand to want more game time so he can prove himself? Pacheco has chalked up only 14 senior team appearances in the last two season for Liverpool. There is no doubt that Pacheco is a talented player and it would be a pity if Liverpool lose him and he decides to go back to Spain after all the time we have invested in him.

Do you think it is now time for Liverpool to cash in on Pacheco and sell him or give him more game time this coming season?

That should be a no-brainer for Dalglish. Why do you want to look outside when you’ve got players inside. Liverpool have lost lots of quality youngsters in the past by not giving them opportunity to prove themselves. We can only hope Dalglish wouldn’t make the same mistakes that past managers have!

Hope young foreign players dont get put off coming to Liverpool because of limited opportunities and preference to english.
