Liverpool summer spending is set to slow down for now, until some players leave the club. Liverpool have signed Henderson, Adam, Downing and Doni this summer but no significant departures have occurred yet besides Paul Konchesky leaving. Liverpool still need to sign a left-back, central defender and striker this summer so that we have a full squad with plenty of quality options.

Kenny Dalglish has come out and said that we will not make more signings until we sell some players first.

“We’re delighted with the work we’ve done,” he said. “Whether there’s more remains to be seen and depends on players going out.”

The likes of Degen, Jones, Cole, Poulsen, Insua and Ngog are players that are earmarked to leave the club this summer. Whilst there is still debate whether Aquilani and Meireles would also be sold this summer.

From a finanical perspective it makes sense not to do buy more players now as our wage bill will be astronomical. If we are able to get rid of a couple of players I am pretty sure that John Henry will give Kenny more funds to strengthen the side.

In that case wouldnt we have been better purchasing the players we really needed ie a left back which is now looking a desperate position instead of signings like jordan henderson which in my opinion wasnt needed.

Hopefully wecan get rid of the trash soon. Time is ticking and we need to sign players in time for pre-season training and not wait for the last day of the window.
