Many Liverpool fans want Paul Konchesky to be sold by the club this summer. Ever since he joined Liverpool from Fulham he never looked like he is worthy of wearing the Liverpool shirt. Roy Hodgson signed him when he took over as Liverpool manager last summer as we needed a left-back.
If ever there was a ‘Worst Liverpool signing ever’ award, I am sure it would go to Konchesky. He was so bad that when Dalglish took over from Hodgson, Kenny did not even have a look at Konchesky and instead shipped him off on loan to Nottingham Forest.
As his loan ended he had to return back to Liverpool but it seems now that he will not be a Liverpool player for much longer as Sven-Goran Eriksson wants to sign the left-back at Leicester City for a reported £1.5million.
The Telegraph is reporting that Konchesky may actually be headed to Sweden tonight for a medical as the Leicester team are on a pre-season tour in the Scandinavian country.
Absolute waste of money. Bloody Woy.
I always thought Hodgson was the worst signing ever, if we are just talking about players then my vote goes to Poulsen.
Worse defender ever bought? Do me a favour, have you forgotten Josemi Josemi Rey so bad they named him twice, or D”r”ossena, Jan Kromkamp, Gabriel Paletta?

I think it is because of hodgson’s decision that anger the liverpool fans of shifting out insua and getting konchesky which make no sense at all,At least insua is still learning to improve while konchesky is no longer a newbies and the worst thing that frustrated me is his decision making in all field and dare he always mention about his wealth of experience over the years,what a crap.

hodgson last summer must have cost the club more than all of Benny’s signings who at least turned a profit out of most of them (see tomkinstimes for his financial nous).
Excuse him for Cole, it seemed a good signing, but other than Raul the rest of them? He must have run his eye over them.
They got mega contracts and we paid significant money for people at the ends of their careers – at least when benny bought in 3rd or 4th choices, they were free or £1m or so.
Hodgson also gave Fulham two of our youth squad in the Konchesky deal.
Purslow was also an idiot. the 2 of them together, route 1 down the table and back to the bank manager.
@HH: I agree with u, but if I were asked to pick my worst signing of the past 10 years(irrespective of d fee),I’ll also go for Poulsen. seeing him in action made me wonder if we ever scouted him. I think it is physically impossible for him to pass the ball anywhere other than sideways or back to the keeper. Forgive my if u dont like it, but I assume this is what happened after Masch told Woy he’ll be leavin…

This man made 3 starts for England, shows the true standard of English football.
He got shipped out because the fans hated him so much. It was after his mum shot off her mouth that there was no way he was going to stay. At least Poulson showed a bit of promise in one game showing that he could, theoretically, be a Soto-type of signing once he settled in. Then he was gash the next time he played.
Wasn’t Insua on his way out before Hodge even arrived?
