Following the arrival of Charlie Adam from Blackpool, a lot has been said about the future of Portuguese international Raul Meireles at Liverpool. Kenny Dalglish now has a whole host of central midfielders to pick from and that may signal the departure of Raul.

The Mirror reports today that Raul may be headed to Italy this summer as Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in acquiring his services for £12million.

It would be a shame if Raul is sold this summer as he started to show us, under Kenny Dalglish, how good a player he is. After Roy Hodgson signed him, he did not have the best of starts at Liverpool as Hodgson had no idea where to play him. But since Kenny started to deploy him in the middle of the park he started scoring goals for fun.

If Raul is sold this summer it would not surprise me at all as he is probably the easiest central midfielder on our books to sell. Many clubs would be willing to have him in their team and we would have to sell him in order to raise some transfer funds. Liverpool have struggled to sell Aquilani, Cole and Poulsen so rather sell Meireles and raise some cash.
