Many Liverpool fans, and the players I am sure, thought that we would never see Alberto Aquilani again playing for Liverpool after he left to go spend last season on loan at Juventus. He played very well there and it looked certain that Juventus would sign him on a permanent deal but that did not happen and now Aquilani is back at Liverpool and could be staying on past this summer according to his agent.

“Alberto’s thoughts were to stay in Italy, but this was not possible,” Zavaglia told Radio Sportiva.

“I don’t know if there is a chance to go back to Italy during this transfer window, it’s a shame our players leave Italian football.

“Liverpool are an important team and I think he can win the Premier League. The objective [at Anfield] is Champions League football.”

Aquilani admitted that he would want to stay in Italy but so far no one has come in with an offer for him in Italy that meets our valuation of him. I am sure there are many clubs in the Serie A who want Aquilani but we will not sell him on the cheap especially since we spent so much money on signing him. I see FSG are playing a critical part in this Aquilani saga as they want to try balance the books as best as they can with this Aquilani deal.

At the end of the day if no one wants to buy Aquilani for the fee Liverpool want for him, he will remain a Liverpool player and Dalglish has said that he will consider the Italian in his plans for the coming season.

Gavin Laws (Standard Chartered) has told Bloomberg that they want to name the new Liverpool stadium!!!!

Ok so he’s likely to be with us this season, Great, He’s a good player and to be honest if Kenny can’t get the best out of him nobody can. Plus he add’s to what is now a strong midfield giving us depth. Remember the ‘oh shit’ feeling last season every time a player got injured?

  3. Gerrardious says:

well apart from d 2-footed missiles (synonymous with Miereles), Aqua provides more creativity, pace n flair to d team, plus he still got a lot of active years in him.
lets just support him n pray he stays fit.

I Agree with Gerrardious, Aquilani is a top player and now that he’s over injury problems he would be a very top player once again. In my opinion, he has more to offer than Meireles in CM and the fact that Gerrard hasn’t played a full season in years makes him even more important to the team.
