The deal to bring Charlie Adam from Blackpool to Liverpool seems to be done as it is reported that Liverpool are going to offer Blackpool some players and cash in exchange for Adam and this deal was agreed this past weekend between the two clubs. One just has to look at the odds on Sky Bet for Charlie Adam joining Liverpool this summer to see how close a deal this is to be done.

Blackpool have valued Adam at £12million put Liverpool will not want to part with all this cash upfront and are set to bid £8million plus midfielder Jonjo Shelvey on a season-long loan and defender Stephen Darby.

Sending Jonjo out on a season loan would not be a bad idea for both Liverpool and the player. The fact that we do not have Europa League football next season means that some of the fringe players will not get much game time and Jonjo is one of these. The competition in central midfield will be fierce next season with the likes of Gerrard, Lucas, Spearing, Henderson and possibly Adam being ahead of Jonjo in the pecking order.
Jonjo would get much more regular football if he were to go out on loan to Blackpool and that would help his growth as a player.

Whereas Darby who was on loan at Notts County last season may actually move to Blackpool on a permanent basis. Darby will find it hard to break into the Liverpool first team at right-back as he has Johnson, Kelly and Flanagan ahead of him.
