As Liverpool fans, we got worried some time ago when it was thought that Pepe Reina could be leaving Liverpool this summer in search of Champions League football and joining a team that could challenge for titles but our star goalkeeper said that he would be staying at Liverpool. Many of us let out a huge sigh of relief after hearing this.
Now Pepe has come out again and solidified his statement of intent on staying at Liverpool following Manchester United getting the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea. It had been thought in some circles that Atletico may now be targeting Reina to replace De Gea but that will not be happening.
“I know Atletico are looking for a goalkeeper, but I won’t be changing colours,” Reina said.
“I have five-year contract with the Reds and I’m happy at Liverpool.”
Way to go Pepe, that is what we want to hear!
Pepe is not for sale and if anyone want’s him they would have to pay a world record fee for a goalkeeper.
