Reports today (Friday) say that Aquilani will be returning to Liverpool as Juventus have refused to sign him and no other club in Italy seems keen to pay the amount Liverpool want for him.

Franco Zavaglia, Aquilani’s agent, confirmed this afternoon that his client will return to Anfield.

“Aquilani is going back to Liverpool,” he told tuttojuve.com.

Now what does all of this mean to Liverpool’s transfer plans this summer? I am sure the money raised from the sale of Aquilani was going to be used to fund new signings such as Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing. From a team perspective, if Aquilani does not get a buyer this summer we will some how have to use him in the squad next season. He would add a lot of depth to the bench and maybe even push for a starting role if he proves himself.

Under Kenny Dalglish, Aquilani may just bring out his best. Dalglish has insisted in the past that he is happy if Aquilani returns to Liverpool.

About time he came back! He was playing well at the end of Rafa’s reign until Bodgson came along! Kenny will bring the best out of Aquaman… his pass & move skills will be vital!

injury prone, moody and simply not good enough for the premier league
there is a reason the italian clubs dont want him, he was playing well in italy but he wasnt anything special
no way will he get in the first team ahead of gerrard, lucas, adam(if we buy him),meireles(if he stays, which he should because he is class)and even spearing
he has no defensive qualities at all

  9. Paulo says:

I like aquaman but it seems he does not want to be a Liverpool player. Why keep him if he didn’t want to play for us? Id rather have meriles than a wantaway
