Liverpool’s search for a winger continues and we have been boosted by news today (Wednesday) that one of our Spanish wing targets, Barcelona’s Jeffren, has turned down a move to Udinese and he insists that he is going to have to leave Barcelona this summer in order to get some regular football.

“It is clear that I do not like the idea of leaving Barcelona for Udinese,” the 23-year-old told Spanish radio station RAC1.

“I have spent the past seven years at Barcelona and it was my dream to succeed here.

“I don’t think I will make it here, though, and it looks like I have to start looking elsewhere.”

This is good news for Liverpool as it means there is still a possibility of Jeffren joining us. The winger is currently on international duty with the Spain Under 21 team and he had stated that he will make a decision about his future after the tournament. Well now he seems to already have made his mind up that he does not want to go to Udinese nor does he want to stay at Barcelona.

Jeffren only has one year remaining on his current deal at Barcelona and and it is believed he has an £8.3million release clause in his contract which Liverpool are looking to trigger.
