The summer is always filled with transfer speculation and virtually every player is linked with a move to one club or the other. Arsene Wenger said it best as he said this will be the last ‘hottest’ summer of transfers we will see in a while before the new Financial Fair Play rules come into effect which will limit how much teams can spend in the transfer market.
Every day I wake up and hear what is the latest going on in the transfer market with Liverpool and it is mostly about the players we are linked with signing. Some reports are just purely rumours and speculation and carry no weight at all.
But there has been one that I have come across this morning (Monday) from SkySports.com (which I tend to find to be reliable at times) and it is the best bit of transfer speculation I have heard so far this summer. Paul Konchesky is being linked with a move to Wolves!
I do not think I have ever disliked a Liverpool player as much as Konchesky! He was signed by Roy Hodgson from Fulham and he is the perfect example of a small club player who crumbled at a bigger club. Liverpool were despearate for a left-back and Hodgson decided to get Konchesky from his former club to fill in at left-back. But after a poor start at Liverpool and subsequently being dropped to the bench after only 18 appearances for the club the future looked bleak for the defender. When Roy Hodgson left Liverpool, that signaled the end of Konchesky’s short Liverpool career as he was swiftly loaned out to Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season. Now he is thankfully being sold this summer.
I hope this deal to take Konchesky to Wolves comes through. If it is not Wolves then any other club who wants his services is more than welcome to sign him.
i don’t know why wolves would want Konchesky even at forest, a division down he was terrible !!
