“Beautifully done by Fowler, wrong-footing the defender… and look at the shot on….. SCREAMER!!”
Those were the words the commentator used to describe one of my greatest ever memories of Robbie Fowler as he scored yet another top draw goal for Liverpool against Aston Villa in 1995.

Many Liverpool fans will always have great memories of Robbie Fowler as a player but how would he fair if he were to return to Liverpool for a THIRD time in his career as coach? There is no doubt that Fowler is a Liverpool Legend and sometimes great player never make great coaches or managers, but Fowler is willing to give it a crack.

Fowler has said, “If I’m being honest I would love to come back to Liverpool one day but it’s not really my choice” the 36-year-old said.

“If I could walk there tomorrow I would but it’s not the ideal world as we all know.

“Eventually that is obviously the aim – to try get and get back there and be a part of that club again because I was there since I was 11 and it’s a big part of my life.”

I believe that Fowler would be best served taking up a role with the younger players at Liverpool. Some of the five to ten year-olds may only have heard of Fowler and not seen him play but they will be able to learn a lot from the man we called ‘god’.

There have been very few players who have been able to find the back of the net as Robbie did and they do not make ‘fox in the box’ strikers like him anymore. If Fowler could come in and help our younger players out and hopefully churn out a ‘new Fowler’ then we will be in a great position. Do you think we should offer Fowler a coaching job when he has wrapped up his UEFA coaching badges?
