Jordan Henderson completed his move to Liverpool yesterday (Thursday) and he is now officially a Liverpool player. Many Liverpool fans have been questioning the decision of firstly, signing another central midfielder when we have the likes of Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Spearing and Jonjo already but secondly, fans were concerned about spending so much money on a 20 year old.
Reports being banded around suggest that Liverpool spent anything between £16 -20million pounds on Henderson which is thought to be way too much. But yesterday, Liverpool’s director of football, Damien Comolli told Liverpoolfc.tv about the Henderson fee.
Comolli said, “On the fee, I’ve read and heard a lot of things. There was a lot of speculation on how much we would pay for Jordan and none of the figures I’ve seen are correct so far. We’ve paid a price that we are comfortable with, otherwise we would not have done the deal.”
So with that said, we can only hope that we did not spend too much and we still have enough to go after our other summer targets.
If the buying team are happy so be it.Can we now have some movement on a winger or two? I recently saw a young Algerian 21yr-old Boudebouz playing in Ligue1, France. He is an absolute talent on the wing and has a trick-laden repertoire to boot ( no pun intended). At 7 to 8 million is a steal…..
