Today could be a very busy day at Melwood as Jordan Henderson is set to have his medical following his proposed £20million move from Sunderland. Blackburn defender Phil Jones may also be joining Henderson at Melwood today as Sky Bet have suspended betting on the possibility of Blackburn defender joining Liverpool.

Phil Jones is part of the same England Under 21 squad that Jordan Henderson is in and the team flies out to Denmark today (Wednesday) for the Euro Under 21 tournament and the two want to complete deals with their new clubs before they fly out.

There has been no official word yet today from Liverpool about either of these two signings but the Henderson deal is said to be 99% done. It is thought that Henderson could be headed to Liverpool for about £16million.

SkySports.com says football Trader Sandro Di Michele said: “A flurry of early morning bets on Phil Jones saw us go from 3/1 into evens and then into 1/3.

“With the weight of money and rumours coming from Merseyside that Jones is having a medical with the club today, we took the decision to suspend betting.”
