“He’s a huge influence on us. Not only does he stop goals – he creates them as well. It’s great for us to have him between the sticks, and for me – if he’s not the best – then I would like to see the one that is better than him.”

Those were the words echoed by Kenny Dalglish with regards to Pepe Reina making his 150th consecutive league appearance for Liverpool tonight (Monday) against Fulham. This is a great achievement by Pepe which many players have not been able to do. We have gotten very comfortable and secure knowing that Liverpool have Pepe Reina in goal. There was a time when we thought that Pepe would be leaving at the end of this season but he has come out and said that he is happy at Liverpool and will be staying.

Dalglish went on to say, “It’s fantastic for Pepe. It’s great for him to make 150 consecutive appearances. He’s our goalkeeper and it’s important we have that continuity. The quality of his performances have been fantastic. I’m sure it’s a milestone that he will think about very fondly.”

So to sum it up, who is a better goal keeper than Pepe Reina? No one!
