With the summer transfer window fast approaching there is going to be no shortage of players leaving and arriving at Liverpool. One of the players that I was certain would leave Liverpool this summer was Maxi Rodrigeuz.

Maxi arrived at Liverpool on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid and we looked forward to him providing some much needed width to the team. Maxi never really lived up to his high billing as his form was not consistent. During the early parts of this season Maxi was in and out the team as he missed a couple of sitters which frustrated many fans.

A lot of fans have been talking about Liverpool selling Maxi this summer after Kenny started to leave him out of the starting lineup. But this past weekend, Dalglish had to play Maxi as Andy Carroll was injured. Maxi started the game against Birmingham and he went on to put in a man of the match performance that included him scoring a hat trick. Maxi’s performance was such that someone told him before the game that he is playing to save his Liverpool career. If that was the case then he virtually did all he could to show Kenny and the fans how much of an asset he can be to Liverpool next season.

Do you think that Liverpool should keep Maxi this summer or should he still be sold?
