Saturday saw Liverpool held to a 1-1 draw at home against Wigan. It is a game I thought we would comfortably win but it was not meant to be. The performance by Liverpool looked very tired and I blame it yet again on the friendly midweek games our key players had to play in.
But be that as it may, Raul Meireles continued his fine goal scoring form by notching up his fifth goal in six games. Can this man stop scoring? I do not think so! This is a rich vein of form that any striker would be proud of, let alone a midfielder. In the past Liverpool have not been blessed with many goal coming from their midfielders, hopefully now with Meireles, a lot of the goal scoring responsibilities will not be placed on our strikers.
Yet again Raul popped up with a brilliantly taken volley to give Liverpool the lead. Raul’s technical ability is second to none and that just goes to show how much of a class player he really is.

Another great finish by Raul, keep it up.
