John W Henry will be flying into the country this week for a reported 10 day stint as he looks set to take a more hands on role with regards to what is happing at Liverpool. I am sure the main priority for Henry will be to sit down and have a chat with Kenny Dalglish as this will be the first time they will be meeting since King Kenny took over as manager.

I am sure both parties will have a lot to say to each other and one of the things Kenny will be asking from John W Henry is permission to use his cheque book to go out into the transfer market this January. We have no idea how much (if any) Henry is willing to spend on this transfer window but I am sure Kenny will let him know that there needs to be some signings.

Mr. Henry will also be tasked with appointing a new CEO on this trip. Hopefully there have been credible candidates interviewed already for the position. Celtic’s Peter Lawwell is a leading contender for the position.

Henry last saw Liverpool live against Chelsea on November 7 and I am pretty sure he will be at Anfield this weekend for the Merseyside Derby. Maybe Henry’s presence will spur the team on to a much needed win. I feel we are just one win away from a turnaround of fortunes and that win will come against Everton this weekend.

Yes let’s hope he does sanction a couple of signings. One winger, striker and defender should see us through to the summer.

Plain to see that a buy youth policy has not previously worked as we are to scared to play our youngsters. Dani P, N Eccleston, T Ince, Suso all currently getting great reviews – 2 of them wingers and yet no confidence to play them. We need first team material – Width, D Midfielder and a left back not to mention a world class forward??
More youth team purchases will just cause our youngsters to clear of..

Nice one Sam, that would leave us with about 7 players. Honestly, can people please take a reality check, Rome wasn’t built in a day, things need to happen gradually. I understand the squad needs an overhaul, but to sell 13 players and replace with 3 makes absolutely no sense at all.

    I couldn’t agree more!

a win would be welcome but too optimistic to say it would turn around fortunes.. we thought the same when we beat Chelsea and Bolton.. a good away win is what we really need then we can push on

What we need this Transfer window is 5 new quality players.. 2 strikers(Luis Suarez and Negredo) 2 new Midfielders, and one full back.. But most importantly we need to offload all the deadwood who call themselves Liverpool players… Lucas Leiva, Konchesky, Poulsen, Ngog, Babel. Replace these five and we’ve got a passionate working Liverpool team.. They say: “Give Ngog time.. Give Lucas time, They are still young.” How long have we been giving them time?? do we see them performing like Gareth Bale yet?? By the time we give them time to settle into their positions; we’ll be in championship next season.. Oh dear, I hope something will be done… The real problem came in after Alonso left and when we got Lucas Leiva to fill in for him.. I’d love it if Alonso comes back too.. Sell Lucas to Man United..
