A lot of the talk today has been about our loss last night to Blackburn and how long Hodgson is going to remain in his job. We had hoped to hear that Hodgson has been sacked this morning but no luck with that news yet. Maybe we have to wait for the Americans to wake up and then we may hear something.
But for now the transfer speculation continues and we have been strongly linked with Stoke’s Robert Huth and Aston Villa’s Stephen Ireland. Now they are not two of the worst players in the game but they are not that great either. They are average Premier League players and having Huth as our center back and Ireland in our midfield would not amazingly changes our current team. What is the difference between having Huth and Skrtel? Likewise Ireland and Joe Cole?
What Liverpool needs right now are players who would walk into the starting eleven and make an instant impact. For many years now we have had to rely on buying average squad players and look at where that has gotten us. We need to change our approach at Liverpool and that means not settling to buy these mediocre players.

The likes of Huth,Ireland, Routledge,Carlton Cole are not good enough for Liverpool and just offering a big wage isn’t enough to get players to come as other clubs can offer the same type of wages anyway.
Also what happens if those players then don’t settle, you’re stuck with them as no one wants to match their wages

For many years we have had useless owners who gave us no option but to settle for average players and now we have new owners who could help buy better ones we have a useless lump of a manager running the team.

It is sad, we have the best striker in the world and the service he gets, is long balls from Kyrgiakos!! This is Roy’s type of football. Since when players like koncheski, Skrtl, Kyrgiakos, Poulsen , Maxi and Ngog, are Liverpool standard?? These players would find it hard to get into Hull’s first eleven! I have my doubts about Babel, because whether he plays good or bad, he is always dropped for the next game, something that never happens to Lucas, Torres, Kuyt, Maxi or Koncheski.
Torres is totally fed up, he only has Steven Gerrard and a bunch of average players. Johnson can be good on his day,Reina is quality, Agger is reliable when not injured, same goes for Aurelio, but what about the rest? Is Kuyt a right winger?? He will never be!
First of all, bring a manager that plays good football and players can respect and admire. Let Roy go back to Fulham, they are big enough for him.

your right on the huth matter hes never and will never be good enough for the reds,but with ireland total differance hes quality and would give the work rate that we need at the club at this time, you should think again when looking at a player who to me has been let to rot for too long, when for years he showed the skills hes got….
We do need a much more solid central defence. Bring in Brede Hangeland and Per Mertesacker and keep Agger around as back-up along with Carra, Wilson. Get rid of Soto and Skrtel (what did Rafa see in him?).
Left side of defence? Konchesky is not good enough and Aurelio is injury prone. A position that needs strenghtening. At right back I believe GJ just needs some adjusting and confidence.
Midfield? Why not get Lass Diarra in to join Meireles? I think Lucas has improved greatly but still lacks pace. SG should be given the freedom to support FT in attack. Can the still produce the magic we say in 08/09? I believe so. Wingers? Everybody says we lack wingers both neither Rafa nor Roy has adressed the issue. I really miss seeing a winger nutmeg someone and produce a cross for FB to nod into the back of the net.
Keeping my fingers crossed for 1. the sacking of Roy, 2. the Reds rising from the ashes.
