We are 5 days into the January transfer window and we still have not had any major deals come through yet. It is most likely that deals are going to be conducted in a rush at the end of January. Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for a striker and the name that popped up some time ago but I never really paid much attention to was Emmanuel Adebayor and now the speculation linking him with a move from Manchester City has risen again.

Adebayor has had a torrid time at Manchester City since his move from Arsenal. Adebayor finds himself down the pecking order following a spell of injuries and now there is a reported training ground bust up with him and Kolo Toure. And with Edin Dzeko having virtually signed for Manchester City it seems that Adebayor’s days at Manchester City are over. Now should Liverpool make a move for Adebayor?

I have never been a fan of Adebayor since his days at Arsenal but there is no disputing that he is a proven striker in the Premier League which is something we need right now. If we get in a player who has not played in the Premier League before, it could take them time to settle. With Adebayor we know what we would be getting from the beginning. Being a target man, a combination of Adebayor and Torres upfront could be lethal but we would need the two to be supplied with quality through balls and crosses which means we would need proper wingers.

What would you make of Liverpool signing Adebayor?

an awesome signing of course as he is a proven English goalscorer.his combination with Torres would lead with a lot of goals as Ade could play the “Heskey” role.Torres scored 34 goals next to Crouch so next to Adebayor he could be even more lethal.also for people saying that we need wingers,i would say that we dont as kuyt, maxi and joe cole are proven wingers.consider that most of our losses came when we played with meireles at right midfield.kuyt on the right and maxi on the left has been bringing points.but i rate Joe Cole higher than Maxi and Kuyt as wingers so my line up would be:
    Reina
    Johnson Skrtel Agger Aurelio
    J.Cole Gerrard Meireles Maxi/Kuyt
    Adebayor Torres
i find this squad top class, what about you?

Steve No No No please don’t let this be true, the guy has been bombed out of Arsenal and now City falling out with teammates everywhere he goes, why would he change at Liverpool. And if you really look at his record he’s no better than Yakubu

Only if it were for the right price (sub 15 million). As much as i enjoyed him raking van persie in the face and running 90 yards to celebrate his goal against arsenal, surely such a character may have a negative effect on the squad(?).

Nice to see some passion though, (or was it a vendetta ?)
