As Fabio Aurelio is returning from injury to give some much needed competition to Konchesky at left back, I understand that Insua will be returning to Liverpool from his loan spell at Galatasaray in January as their new manager, Gheorghe Hagi, does not want any loan players in his squad. However if Galatasaray decide to buy Insua then he will not be a loan player and he may then remain at the club. But with the way things are looking, Insua will be headed back to Anfield in January.
This will give us more cover at left back and more options as I have not been impressed by Konchesky at all this season. Insua had a long run in the team last season and did well on occasions. His biggest weakness is his height as he is very short and thus is vulnerable when he is up against taller players when it comes to the aerial tussles. There is nothing we can do about his height, if he is short he is short thus he has to make up for it in other departments.
I would not mind seeing Insua return at all as I would rather have him ahead of Konchesky but not ahead of Aurelio when he is fit.
I’d welcome him back with open arms. Never wanted him to leave in the first place. I was Purslow forcing him out, and then the yes-man Roy went along with it all.
At 5ft 10.5in he is hardly ‘very short’, and Konchesky is a mere 4cm taller. What he lacks in heigh over Paul, he makes up for with flashes of skill, bags of potential, a good cross, a decent shot, yout, and plenty of time to improve!
Make sure we keep the lad Mr Comolli!
I’d be glad to see Insua come back. To me, Konchesky doesn’t offer anything that Insua doesn’t. Plus he’s young and one for the future.
Now if only Aqua would come back, but that seems highly doubtful.
lets hope he does come back, but with Roy in-charge, what chance does he have?!!
