Football - Wigan Athletic v Aston Villa Barclays Premier League

There is talk in the papers today that Liverpool could get Emile Heskey for as little as £1.5m in this January transfer window. Heskey is out of contract with Wigan in the summer and would thus be able to leave for free so Wigan may decide to cash in on him this January and get £1.5m. So the question will be, Does Rafa want Heskey at Anfield? Heskey himself has made it clear that he would like to come back to Anfield. Who would blame him, he would be in a great position to join a team which is capable of winning the Premiership this season. It would probably be the easiest Premiership medal anyone would have received if Heskey does join us and we do win the league.

It is not secret that we looked a bit blunt infront of goal when Torres was injured this season. Robbie Keane was meant to supply the goals but he did not do it regularly. We do need another out and out striker inorder to complete our team but I am not sure if Heskey is the right man for the job. Yes Heskey can find the back of the net but not consistently. If Rafa decides to go for Heskey, I would then ask the question; why let Crouch go? For me Crouch is far better than Heskey. Yes Crouch wanted to leave inorder to get more football but Rafa could have convinced him otherwise. But enough about Crouch, he is gone now. We have to focus on what is available and Heskey’s name continues to pop up as a possible target for us.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Heskey back at Liverpool?
