Liverpool are top of the Premier League! I just had to say that to give me some joy as last nights result was rather disappointing but on the bright side we are now top of the league. It may only be by one point but we are top. Yet again I was left largely frustrated after the game as we failed to score for an entire 90 minutes and this is all happening at Anfield. I think we actually play much better when we are away from home as teams tend to just come to Anfield and defend with all they have. This was the case last night.

We knocked and knocked on West Ham’s door but no one could find a way to open it. When we did, their goalkeeper was in great form. When I saw the starting lineups, I was happy as we fielded a very attack minded 11 which I am sure Rafa had instructed to go get goals. Whenever I see Mascherano on the bench, I know that we are out to attack. But even with that attack minded 11, we failed to score and yet again I emphasise the point that we need another striker especially since Torres is injured.

Robbie Keane hardly got into the game at all yesterday and I think his confidence is starting to take a dip now and he was not too happy when he was subbed off. What ticked me off even more was that Ngog came on for Keane and Ngog looked clueless on the pitch. I do not think Ngog is good enough to be playing in our first team yet and should spend some time in the reserves. I would much rather see Pacheco or Nemeth step up into the first team in the absence of Torres.

Our defence is fairly sound right now, even with the reshuffling we did yesterday in giving Hyypia a start ahead of Agger and Dossena coming in on the left. Sami looked dangerous everytime he came up for a corner and should have gotten a goal yesterday. For once, I do not have anything bad to say about Dossena’s performance last night, but still I do not think he is good enough.

We just need to score goals! We are top of the league and have not played well at all since the loss to Spurs in the league. I just hope we start playing well and firing on all cylinders so that we stay top of the league. We are picking up too many draws and it was these draws that cost us a higher finish last season. I just look at the games against Stoke, Fulham and now West Ham at home and we have dropped 6 points from those games. We should be 7 points clear right now and riding away in the sunset to #19. Come on you Reds!

If we are short 5 or six points in winning the league come May just remember –

    Stoke @ home – 0-0
    Fulham @ home – 0-0
    West Ham @ home – 0-0

Ok the teams may come set up for a point but teams have being trying to do that at Old Trafford for years and still end up with a hiding – we just let them off the hook everytime – I cannot believe how we are TOP of the EPL after 3 poor draws and the defeat to Spurs.

Robbie Keane humilated again by being replaced by a teenager – RAFA and the Yanks – plz buy a worl class striker in Jan. We don;t care if they are cup tied for the CL. We need a striker to compliment the team whem Torres is injured. Robbie cannot lead the line on his own and we don;t seem to have anybody to help him if we revert to 2 up front.

I felt really disappoint on monday night, a bit sad actually.

We seem to be struggling against teams that sit deep these days. Playing Keane alone up front is stupid when we play at home. Kruyt should have played closer to him and given the midfielders another option going forward.

Benu is decent player but he keeps cutting inside & not providing the width that Riena gives. They could have tryed benu just behind Keane & the Kruyt out on the right rather.

Ngog is nowhere near being ready for the prem, he should be spending more time in the reserves rather.

But i still love & support my team!
